Why Are Great Falls Public Pools Closing So Soon?
Summer will be coming to an end a little bit sooner for patrons of the public pools in Great Falls.
Staffing problems are creating a problem for the city, and they are pulling the plug on the rest of the 2025 summer swim season.

Safety Overrides Everything - No Lifeguards Available to Staff Pools
The Great Falls Park and Recreation Department announced through social media on Thursday, August 7th that the public pools would be closing earlier for the season than normal.

The simple reason?
No lifeguards are available to ensure the safety of swimmers.
We spoke about this earlier this year when the department closed the Water Tower Pool for this same reason.
Final Days of Swimming at Public Pools in Great Falls This Year
The Park and Rec announced that the Jaycee Pool will be closed on Sunday August 10th. The pool will be open from 10am to 5:30pm the remaining days.
The Electric City Water Park will close for the season on Sunday, August 17th. The water park will be open for the remainder of the season from 12pm to 6pm daily. The park will not be open for the previously announced weekends of August 23rd & 24th or August 30th & September 1st.
