It can be challenging for folks to wrap their head around the fact that Montana is a pretty awesome place to call home.

Although we may not be at the top of the list, the fact that four Montana towns made the list is still pretty cool.

Until you've lived in other states and seen what is out there, it's incredibly easy to take what we have here in the Treasure State for granted.

But for all you naysayers out there, the numbers don't lie.

Check out this recent study from WalletHub.

To identify the top-performing small cities in the United States, WalletHub conducted an extensive analysis involving 1,321 cities across five critical dimensions: Affordability, Economic Health, Education and health, Quality of Life, and Safety.

They focused on cities with population sizes ranging from 25,000 to 100,000, considering only the core urban area and excluding surrounding metropolitan regions.

Here's the breakdown

Affordability – Total Points: 20

Economic Health – Total Points: 20

Education & Health – Total Points: 20

Quality of Life – Total Points: 20

Safety – Total Points: 20

Not everyone is drawn to the hustle and bustle of big cities.

In fact, approximately 31% of Americans express a preference for suburban living, while only 16% opt for urban areas, and 24% choose rural communities.

However, it's crucial to note that not all small cities are created equal.

So, which ones stand out from the rest?
