They dissected 3,500 deals, creating a treasure map of discounts from 13 retail giants.

WalletHub surveyed over 3,500 deals from the 2023 Black Friday ad scans of 13 major U.S. retailers to identify the retailers with the most cost-effective deals for the upcoming Black Friday.

The discount for each retailer was calculated based on the weighted average, considering the pre-discounted price of the items.

This approach gave more significance to retailers offering discounts on higher-ticket items. Deals without calculable percentage markdowns were excluded from our analysis.

The deals were then categorized into nine product categories, including "Apparel and accessories," "Consumer Electronics," and "Appliances." For category averages, we considered only retailers with at least five discounted items in a specific category.
