I really don't want to start a war about this, but it really seems to me that the Apple iPhone has a lot of problems.  Now, I will say that I have never had an Apple product when it comes to my phone or tablet.

So, my knowledge is simply what I read or friends experience.  And it seems I read a lot of things about the product along with hearing about some of the quirks that make the product unique.  But again, here we are with another warning to iPhone users that their phones are in danger.

Apple Users in Montana Need to Know About New Spyware

If you have had problems lately with your iPhone, there may be a very sinister reason as to why.  It comes in the form of "mercenary spyware attacks" and they target phones that are running older software.

The attacks go after the engine that powers Webkit, part of the Safari operating system and integral to apps.  Users running iOS's that are before iOS 26 or 26.2 on the platform could be at risk to exposure.

Unique Hack Doesn't Even Require You to Do Anything to Be Compromised

Mercenary spyware attacks, or "zero-click" attacks don't even require you to click on a link to activate the malware/spyware.  Hackers can simply hijack your phone and force it load questionable content to it.

Once active, the spyware will allow the hacker to do whatever they want with your phone and information.  Access to texts, emails, photos, record logs, keystrokes, even following you and tracking your location.  Yikes!

How To Stay Safe with Your iPhone - Sort Of

iPhone users are being told that they should immediately update their iOS to the latest available version of their model of phone.  Then simply restart and you should have the latest in protection.

But there is a small catch to the updates:  if you have an iPhone 11 or older, you won't be able to update at all.  models like the XR, XS, X and iPhone 8 are all still vulnerable to the zero-click attacks.  You can learn more here.
