If you have the time, take a little trip down memory lane with me; to a time gone by when Saturday morning cartoons were still happening, and you had a brand-new box of cereal waiting for you in the kitchen cabinet.

You reach for the box and immediately your eyes are drawn to the graphics describing what you'll find inside of it.  The coveted toy.  Yes, cereal used to come with toys.  All sorts of them, even records.  And now, those good times are returning, and my spoon is shaking with anticipation.

The WK Kellog Company is hoping to recapture some of those nostalgic moments with the return of toys in special edition boxes of assorted cereals, including Apple Jacks, Fruit Loops, Frosted Flakes and more.  The new promotion is part of the collaboration with the new movie Toy Story 5.

Cereals Will Feature Toys of Characters from Toy Story Movie Sequel

The company's partnership with the movie will feature toys in select cereals from the characters being portrayed.  The goal according to Kellog is to reintroduce the tradition for a new generation and bring back "screen free moments of discovery" in kids.

The House That Cereal Built - Step Inside the Kellogg Mansion

Taking a peek into the Kellogg Mansion is like stepping back in time. The home, built in 1925 was originally known as the Villa Marina in Dunedin Isles.

William Kellogg, who founded the Michigan-based Kellogg's company only lived in the sprawling mansion for about three years (during the winter months) before his death in 1951. Eventually, the home succumbed to structural damage and was demolished a few years ago.

In addition to the photos below, you can take a virtual tour of the home using virtual reality. A news story highlighting the University of Florida's program is included below.
