One of the most popular software programs on your computer is being targeted by cybercriminals with a new phishing scam hitting your email inbox.
The warning from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) says that the new scam could even allow hackers the ability to bypass the multi-factor authentication and get directly to sensitive information on your computer or mobile device.

The prompt instructs users to enter a code on a real Microsoft verification page, but it also allows authorization to a hacker's device to access the user's Microsoft account. Once they have access, everything is available such as Outlook email, Teams and OneDrive.
Stay Safe by Not Clicking Unfamiliar Links in Your Outlook Email Inbox
The FBI originally identified the scam in April and issued the first alert for the Kali365 in late May. The bureau is urging users of the Microsoft 365 software to be cautious of unexpected email that contain access codes or request login credentials.

They also encourage anyone who may receive a malicious email or notice suspicious account activity through the program to report it to the bureau's Internet Crime Complaint Center here. As always, never click on unknown links or enter codes not formally requested. Read the full release here from the FBI.
