
Montana Marinara One of 10 Finalists for National Award
Montana is known for many different things as the Big Sky State. Whether that be breathtaking views in Glacier National Park, wild west events like rodeos and skijoring, or vast water, Like Flathead and Fort Peck Reservoirs.
We're known as much more than those, with famous artists, actors, writers and athletes. But we soon may be known for something much, much different across the US and the World.

That something combines some of the best farm grown produce in the state, creating a one-of-a-kind taste that is quickly becoming a favorite on school cafeteria lunch tables. Montana Marinara has been named one of 10 finalists in the "Farm to Cafeteria Innovation Awards".

The company was chosen from over 60 applications in the contest and were highlighted for their marinara because it "stood out for its innovative approach to developing local products for school meals". After selection, the business gave a 5-minute presentation "highlighting how their product supports local agriculture, strengthens food systems, and creates real impact in schools".
Learning More About Montana Marinara - Helping Montana Farmers
Montana Marinara is made with USDA Foods Canned Tomatoes and combined with locally grown and sourced Montana-grown produce. The sauce is processed and bottled in Ronan, Montana. Butternut squash, carrots, onions and safflower oil are used in the marinara sauce.
The Montana Marinara program also gives back to farmers growing the produce. With every pound of the sauce sold, roughly .33 cents (2022 data) goes back to them. Seems like a win for everyone involved, but how am I going to get my hands of some of this stuff to test it?
