Pro Football Team for Sale, On Hiatus for 2026 in Montana
Montana professional football fans will need to make bigger travel plans or make sure they are subscribed to their favorite sports channels to catch games in the state. It appears that the only team in the Treasure State won't be around much longer.
The Billings Outlaws, members of the professional Arena Football League have announced that the 2026 season of games has been put on hiatus, and the future of the team within the city and state are now in question.

In the statement, the team said that they would be taking 2025 off to search for a new home for the players and leaving the Billings market. However, if a group or person(s) are interested in purchasing the team, it would be considered.
Statement Also Takes a Shot at Local/State Government and Fans Before Leaving
Despite thanking the community in the statement, it also took a few swipes at the local and state government, and possibly even fans of the team in the city and state:
Due to an increase in costs, the lack of any municipal or state government support, and the simple fact that even with $10 tickets in Billings, we couldn't fill TDS Fiber Field for nationally televised games, it is apparent that the Outlaws in Billings isn't longer feasible for the team.
Ouch. Pretty much a blindside block to fans and to the state. You can view the statement in its entirety here.
