Ok, hear me out before you send in your hate mail and start calling me names on the internet, I'm not trying to be mean or judgemental; I'm just saying what I'm betting a good chunk of you out there are already thinking!

You can't deny it; some pretty odd folks seem to come out of the woodwork anytime the fair is in town and it makes for some pretty epic people-watching!

Listen, I know we're all strange in our own special ways, but for some reason, state fairs seem to have an influx of odder-than-normal folks.

I'd like to know where these people are the other 360 days of the year.

And by no means is this a new thing; I can remember growing up in Billings as a kid and then later in life attending fairs when I lived out of state for six years, and it's the same everywhere!

If you've made it this far in the article, you're likely in agreeance or super angry and just waiting to see what I'll say next.

So to wrap up, what makes someone strange in my mind?

Demeiner is a big one

You know what I'm talking about here. It's when you see the person and they just aren't acting like everyone else.

Clothing options

Listen, I know it's hot, but this is a family event. Enough said.

Eating habits

I love fair food as much as the next person, but these folks have armloads of food and seem utterly unaware that it's spilling everywhere.

Completely unaware of their surroundings

Cutting in line, walking into people, talking crudely around kids, that sort of a deal.

Parenting

Kids are left entirely unattended and roaming about the event like wild animals.

So the moral of the story is... try not to contribute to the strange people that flock to fairs!
