Back to school returns to Great Falls coming up on August 28th, 2024. Soon our streets will be filled with children and young adults making their way to one of the many elementary schools, middle schools or the two high schools.
It also means that just like winter driving rules, we all need a quick refresher about etiquette when summer ends and fall begins.

I know, I know. We all know the rules of the road, right? But yet each day I see people speed through school zones way above the posted 25 mph limit.
Most school zones within our city our set at 25mph, but Montana state law allows for that to be down to 15mph if needed. Remember that you also must stop for designated crosswalks near a school, regardless of if there is a guard or not.

Beginning next week those big yellow rigs will be on the streets taking our children to and from school. When encountering a school bus on public roadways, remember these simple rules from the Great Falls Public Schools:
