Ford Is Taking Another Hit with a New Recall Affecting Lincoln Division

It seems as if once the temperatures across the country began to warm, so did people using their vehicles to get from A to B.  Which, I admit, isn't really out of the ordinary.  Nobody likes driving in the bitter cold and snow.

The NHTSA said in the notice that:

C-pillar trim appliques and window division bars may detach from the vehicle’s rear side doors while driving.  The components may detach due to inadequate application pressure of the components during assembly at the supplier facility that results in insufficient adhesive retention.

Owners of the Aviator models may also visually inspect the C pillar trim for any separation between component and the vehicle.

What You Should Do if You Have a Lincoln Aviator in Montana

The NHTSA release indicates that owners of vehicles affected will be notified via mail.  However, because the vehicles affected are not produced with sequential vehicle identification numbers (VIN), owners have a separate option for warranty.
