
Harley Davidson Motorcycles Recalled – Is Your Montana Ride One?
Just as the summer begins in Montana and across the country, motorcycle enthusiasts can't wait to twist the throttle on their iron horse and hit the open roads of our great state.
But if your steed was a recent purchase via the Harley Davidson Motorcycle Company, you might want to check to ensure it isn't one of the thousands that have just been recalled by the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA).

Harley Davidson Motorcycles Recalled - Is Your Montana Ride One?
The new recall, announced through the NHTSA website, involves the possibility of pressure buildup in the crankcase. The problem is "due to a supplier manufacturing issue, the breather port may contain plastic material blocking the passageway."

The report states that "if the dipstick is removed while the crankcase is pressurized, and the pressure is not slowly released before removing the dipstick, oil may be discharged from the fill spout, creating a risk of injury."

This recall affects several different models in the Harley Davidson stable, including the following:

The following descriptions are what to look for on your motorcycle:
- motorcycle may exhibit smoking from the exhaust system, excessive oil consumption, a detached breather hose, and/or an audible release of pressure when removing the dipstick
