Popular Montana Family Recreation Lodge to Be Reopened

Across the vastness that is Montana, there are many places that become popular for family vacations.  Year after year, families gather at familiar locations like national parks, state parks, or even favorite areas that might be part of our national forests.

Of those popular locations, nestled between Missoula, Montana and Kalispell, families have had to find somewhere else to make memories.  For the past two years, the Holland Lake Lodge has sat empty.  But one family from Central Montana is ready to make memories with guests and gatherings again in the near future at the state park.

Popular Montana Family Recreation Lodge to Be Reopened

The popular Holland Lake Lodge has new ownership as of 2025, and they hail from Great Falls.  New owners Eric Jacobsen and his family purchased the lodge over the summer last year and have exciting plans for the lodge.

Jacobsen's hope and dream is to "get it open as soon as possible and to steward it into a new era".  Part of that will be to address the septic problem which led to the original closing of the lodge at the campground.

Commitment and Focus for New Owners and Holland Lake Lodge in MT

For now, the restoration process continues at the lodge, and no firm date for reopening has been given, but Jacobsen promised more updates coming in the near future.  "Over the next few months, I'll be sharing updates on the restoration work, reopening plans and anything else that comes up" he said.

In the meantime, the owners will be prioritizing the septic system first, to ensure a strong footing for the lodge.  Work has already begun on the kitchen area, the foundation and windows at the site.  You can follow updates here.
