JD Gets a Sneek Peak at Exclusive Happy Gilmore Putter
Even if you haven't spent much time on a golf course, you probably have heard a quote or two from the Adam Sandler movie "Happy Gilmore".
After nearly 30 years since that release, Sandler is back at it with "Happy Gilmore 2" available on Netflix July 25, 2025. As featured in the first movie, Happy plays a hockey stick style putter gifted to him. That same putter is now available to the public to have a go at getting the ball in the hole.

Callaway Golf and Odyssey Team to Bring the Happy Putter to Life for Golfers
In conjunction with the movie, golf companies Callaway and Odyssey teamed to bring golfers everywhere the exact replica of the putter Sandler uses for his character in the movie.

The new putter is a limited edition, with select retailers across the country receiving them. But fortunately for Great Falls golfers and movie fans, I found one for sale and got a sneak peek of it and snagged some pictures while checking it out.
Its Long, Its Heavy, and It Isn't Legal to Use for Competition Golf Usage
I stopped at our local Scheels the day before the opening of the movie and was able to get my hands on this wacky piece of equipment. The putter is long, coming in at nearly 44" and huge 21" grip on it.
The putter also comes with an exclusive Happy Gilmore sock cover, including the famous line of "just tap it in".
However, golfers may be disappointed to learn that the putter is non-conforming. A spokesperson for Callaway Golf stated that "because the back of the hockey stick putter is flat, it is non-conforming for play under the Rules of Golf".
Which is a total bummer. I would totally use this for league play!
What about you? Would you sport this out for weekend of golf with your buddies? Be prepared with your pocketbook though. This bad boy is going to set you back just under $500. You can check it out online at the Odyssey Golf website here.
