
Average Home Price Now Over $300k In Great Falls
Coming into the new year of 2026, I had to take pause the other morning walking to my garage to leave for work.
And no, it did not have to do with the lack of snow that needed shoveled for the morning jaunt. Not at first at least.
Since we don't have the joy of clearing the white stuff away, I noticed a corner of the driveway concrete we saved near the fire pit. Scribbled with a nail almost 30 years ago, my wife and I bought our home. I have to admit it made me a little nostalgic.

Average Home Price Now Over $300k In Great Falls
Over those 30 years, there has been the temptation to leave that abode for "greener pastures", especially once our son graduated and began his own family. We soon return to reality (realty?) rather quickly though once we glance at the prices of similar homes. All I can say is YIKES!

According to the home sale site Zillow, home prices in Great Falls are showing a median list price of nearly $372,000 (December 2025) and the median sale price listed at just over $338,000 (November 2025). When I think of what we paid back in 1996, it makes my bank account shudder at trying to afford one now.
WAIT! It Isn't All Bad News About That Number for Homes in Great Falls
Okay, sure, the market to buy a home isn't the greatest that it maybe could be, but that is still relatively cheap when you check cities in Montana like Billings. The average home price there is over $386,000 and in Bozeman that number skyrockets to almost $705k.
The other small caveat of the Great Falls housing market is we did see over a 5% increase in home values across the city. But that still isn't enough for me to pull the trigger and start boxing things up for a big move. What about you?
