Great Falls Travelers Won’t Have to Wait at Airport

With a possible solution in sight with the government shutdown of the past month, many across the country have had travel plans changed due to air traffic controllers being unavailable and flights being delayed or even canceled.

As citizens continue to hold their breath about the services that will become available, many are still wondering about flying the friendly skies.  For Great Falls residents, the worry may not need to be as bad as other cities in our state or country.

Great Falls Travelers Won't Have to Wait at Airport

As of Friday, November 7, 2025, the Great Falls International Airport has announced that there aren't any delays happening at the current time with any flights out of the city.  However, other city airports in the state haven't been as lucky as the Electric City.

GFIA has stated that for services in Great Falls:

As of Friday afternoon, we aren't aware of any changes specific to GTF from any carrier. Connection cities however are being impacted. Airlines are automatically rebooking impacted passengers.

How to Stay Ahead of Cancellations in Great Falls and More

The airport offered several different ways in order to stay updated on any changes when trying to take to the skies.  Travelers are encouraged to:

download your airline's app and agree to text updates. Make sure you input your mobile number and allow texts from them. Make sure to use the online check-in when the 24 hour prior to flight window opens. Make sure to watch for emails from your airline also. Most airlines have extended their cancelation and refund policies during this period also.
