Fire Up the Cages – Exciting News with Great Falls Voyagers
If you live in the central part of Montana right now, you are more than likely to be outside doing something. Anything. And so far with the mild weather, I have been able to talk gardening, golf, exercise, and more.
Now I get to share another great outdoor activity that gets a lot of attention in Great Falls. But usually not until the summer. I mean, they are the "boys of summer" after all. Let's talk Voyager baseball excitement that is happening already for 2026.

Fire Up the Cages - Exciting News with Great Falls Voyagers
Regardless of what Mother Nature is currently doing, or has done in the past with weather, right now is the time that baseball teams are finalizing their roster and setting schedules for the summer. A lot happens behind the scenes during the winter with the Great Falls Voyagers, including getting coaches set for the season also being a top priority.

For 2026 the Voyagers will be bringing some Major League help to the batting cages for the upcoming season. Former MLB player Darren "The Bullet" Ford will be joining the team as the new hitting coach for players.
More Than Familiar with Montana Baseball and Great Falls Area
If Ford's name sounds familiar, it's because he had his professional start in baseball in Helena, Montana and was drafted in 2004 by the Milwaukee Brewers. He would also go on to play for the San Francisco Giants in 2010 and 2011.
"The Bullet" Issues Statement Through Great Falls Voyagers Team
In a statement through the organization's website, Ford said that he was "truly blessed to have the opportunity to work with the Voyagers" and added that "Montana is a baseball state with some of the greatest fanbases in the sport. I'm really excited to help develop this team. Baseball is a marathon, not a sprint, and I'm looking forward to taking the season one day at a time while giving the players all of the knowledge I have to offer. My goal is to do everything I can to help develop these players into future Major League Baseball players".
Welcome back to Montana, Coach Ford, let's get to the cage!
