What You Need to Know About New Tattoo Ink Recall
If the thought of getting some ink therapy has been on your mind for a while, you may want to inquire about the maker of the ink about to be put into your body.
A new recall by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has stated that certain inks by the Sacred Ink company could be contaminated.

Two Separate Inks Are Part of the FDA Recall
The two inks in question are as follows:
- Sacred Tattoo Ink, Raven Black - Color Index (CI) #: 77266, Lot #: RB0624, best before: June 28, 2027
Sacred Tattoo Ink, Sunny Daze - Color Index (CI) #: 21095, Lot #: SD1124. best before: Nov 1, 2027

The inks have been recalled after traces of the bacterium pseudomonas aeruginosa. The bacteria can cause skin and soft tissue infections when the skin has been broken such as in a tattoo session.
FDA Advises Consumers and Artists
The FDA recommends that consumers, artists and shops check the lot numbers of the inks in question that they have in stock.
