The drawdown of a portion of the Missouri River that runs through Great Falls began last week and it sure does show what the river would be like here if we did not have the dams.   Last week Northwestern Energy said they would drawdown the Rainbow Reservoir some ten feet so that crews could repair Rainbow Dam.  Some of the pictures are pretty amazing.

I took several pictures and if you drive along River Road between Giant Springs State Park and Rainbow Dam you will see what a difference ten feet of water can make.

NW Energy says the reservoir should be back to normal by Ocotober 6th.
