New Country Artist’s Music Resonates With The Working Class Like Never Before
If you've spent any time scrolling through Facebook videos over the past few days, there's a good chance you've come across Oliver Anthony.
Oliver is a former factory worker in Virginia whose music resonates with the working class, unlike anything I've heard in a long time.
The only artists that come to mind that may compare are Merle Haggard and Johnny Cash.
In a recent video posted to YouTube, Oliver talks about how his goal is to make music to help people.
I have decided that this is this is going to be what I do.At all costs, no matter what I'm going to create, I'm gonna write, create and produce as much original authentic music as I can, in the hopes that it it that it'll at least help somebody out there that needs it. And I know we're living in dark times. And I know that this is this is really just the beginning of what's to come.
In a few short days, Oliver's Music has blown up the country charts and bumped artists like Jelly Roll, Jason Aldean, Luke Combs, and Morgan Wallen out of the top iTunes download.
On August 13th, Oliver had six songs in the top country downloads list on iTunes.
iTunes also has his song Rich Men North of Richmond as the second on the Best New Music charts.
Oliver's gravely, natural, and unfiltered sound is similar to that of Jamey Johnson or Chris Stapleton.
I'm hopeful and curious to see where Oliver Anthony's career goes.
