What Big Summer Project of Yours Just Isn't Happening

Unless you have hit the lottery or happen to be living in Big Sky in Montana, your list of basic summer projects is probably just like mine.  Paint this, plant that, fix those and get rid of all the other.

And I am guessing that just like myself, there are a handful of those projects that probably aren't going to see the light of Summer 2025 but will probably see the snow of Winter 2026.

Crazy Things My Father Said That I Now Know Weren't Crazy at All

Growing up on a ranch, there were some instances my father would spout off some weird thing about the weather or crops or cows or something like that.  I was a teen and not really paying attention closely.

Oh, and I was probably holding the flashlight wrong at that exact moment also.

One of those "dadism's" that came about was just how short our summer is in Montana.  And the older I get the more I realize just how correct he was about time and life:

Son, there are roughly 89 days of summer to get accomplished what needs gettin' done.  Don't waste 'em.

Simple enough, but yet after all these years of knowing it, I'm still that teenaged kid holding that same flashlight.  Only this time I'm shining it in my own eyes.

The Honey Do List - Some Will and Some Won't Make the Cut

Since that first bud of the spring earlier this year in Montana, I had high aspirations of summer projects.  And after a quick walk around the yard, I have realized that I played a lot of golf so far this year.
