Stay Safe: FDA Warns Of Lead Contamination In Cinnamon Products
This Bold Spice Is Getting a Recall Across America from the FDA
It's taken a while for me to come to this conclusion, but I believe as we age, we start to really pay attention to what we put into our bodies. I know, not really a lightbulb type moment, but it leads me to my next theory.
Since we are so concerned, is that why there are so many recalls of food lately? I mean, between cantaloupe, oats and more, it seems every day there is something that is going to make us sick. Now, it seems that has crept into the spice world with cinnamon.
FDA Issues Alert Over Certain Cinnamon Products Being Contaminated
On March 6, 2024, the US Food and Drug Administration issued a new alert over the use of cinnamon from several different distributors. Two of those products are available in Montana to include La Fiesta and Supreme Tradition.

The recall involves ground cinnamon products that have elevated levels of lead and that prolonged exposure to these products could be unsafe for humans.
Recommendations For Consumers If You Have These Recalled Products
If you have purchased these products recently at your local supermarket, Dollar Tree or Family Dollar, the FDA recommends stopping usage and dispose of any of these products.
