Viral “Benadryl Challenge” Sparks Urgent Warning In Montana
Peer Pressure Has Shifted From Schoolyards to Social Media
If you think back to when you were younger, there’s a good chance you can remember a moment where peer pressure pushed you into something you probably regret.

Libby Police Warn Parents About the “Benadryl Challenge”
Police in Libby are warning families across their community and around Montana to watch out for something being called the “Benadryl Challenge.”
It is exactly what it sounds like, and it is dangerous. The challenge encourages kids to take large amounts of the allergy medication in an attempt to trigger hallucinations.
Health officials are stressing that this is not just risky; it can turn into a medical emergency fast. We are talking seizures, heart problems, confusion, loss of consciousness, and in some cases, even death.

Parents Need to Talk About Online Challenges Now
This is not a new trend either. It popped up a few years ago and led to hospitalizations back then, and now it is resurfacing online and spreading quickly before warnings can really catch up.
Most social media trends are harmless dances or jokes, but this kind of thing is in a completely different category with real, life-threatening consequences.
That is why Libby police are asking parents to have those conversations at home now, before an online trend turns into something that ends in a trip to the emergency room.
