How To Ruin a Beautiful Walk Under the Big Sky of Montana

Even though snow is flying today, it was just a few short days ago that some diehards were out and about on the links.  Yes, those links.  The golf links.  As temperatures rose into the 60's across the state, golf courses opened and allowed players to get a couple of rounds in.

Spring is on its way, and it means the courses will be open full time before you know it.  It also means that weekly leagues will be starting up and now is the time to get your team ready to go to play through the season.

Has Golf Taken a Hit in Recent Years in Great Falls and Montana?

While I don't have hard data to back up this claim, it is my observation that golf has seen a downswing in people that are getting out and enjoying a good walk ruined.  Tournaments don't seem to be as full as they once were, getting tee times isn't as difficult and leagues are busy recruiting new teams.

At one time, there was an extremely long waiting list for all of the courses.  One might need to wait several years before garnering a coveted spot at Hickory Swing, Eagle Falls or Anaconda Hills.  That doesn't appear to be the case in today's times.

Regardless of the current forecast, spring and summer will eventually be here.  Don't miss your chance to get your teams registered to play at the Anaconda Hills Golf Course.

According to the course Facebook page, registration for teams is only open until March 1st, 2024.  Teams will need to have their fee of $150 and members names listed on the application available here.
