Great Value Bakery Items Recalled at Walmart in Montana

Food recalls in 2024 seemed for me to be at an all-time high across our state and across the country.  It has affected everything in the food industry from ingredients to packaged meals, they have all been hit.

In a new update regarding a recall of Walmart products, two popular bakery items were found to have foreign objects in the products.

Recall Continues in Montana and US in Walmart Stores

In a report through the US Food and Drug Administration, the issue was first learned about in November of 2024.  And while the initial run of the products in question has passed, reports are still being considered open.

The recall involved 2 different bakery items sold under the Walmart Great Value Brand labeling.  Those two products were found to have plastic pieces in the final packaging contents.

You Can Still Check for These UPC Symbols for Contamination

The following products sold under the Great Value brand were affected by the recall:

  • Great Value Cheese Danish 16.5 oz UPC 078742201177, 12 retail units per case
  • Great Value Cinnamon Rolls 16.5oz UPC 078742201160, 12 retail units per case

As stated within the FDA report, this case remains open, and consumers are encouraged to check product UPC symbols to ensure they are not contaminated with foreign objects.
