And it only takes a couple of bad apples to ruin the entire thing for everyone.  Vandals are targeting several popular local Montana State Parks near Great Falls and officials are looking for the public to submit any tips they may have.

Vandalism Strikes 3 Popular State Parks Near Great Falls

On September 9, 2025, Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks (MFWP) reported three separate instances of vandalism at 3 different state parks:

State parks that were targeted include:

  • At the Rainbow Dam trailhead, extensive graffiti was spray painted in a latrine.
  • At Giant Springs State Park, several recently planted trees were destroyed.
  • At Sluice Boxes State Park, a jackleg fence was knocked down and damaged.

MFWP didn't offer specific dates of when the vandalism may have occurred, saying only that they were "recent" incidents at the parks.

Wardens in Montana Region 4 Looking for Public Help to Find Vandals

MWFP Region 4 game wardens are now searching for more information on these acts of vandalism.  If you have information that may help in solving any of the above acts of damage or other wildlife/hunting/park violations, visit here to report.

Individuals can also contact Great Falls area game warden Mike Tucker at 406-594-4813 directly with information regarding the incidents.  Tipsters may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
