Great Falls Fire Rescue Release Proposed Fees Update
Keeping people safe within the borders of the Electric City isn't a cheap endeavor. If it were, we wouldn't have the heated discussion in Great Falls of funding said endeavor. Costs have risen for consumers and businesses alike, and our city/county governments are all feeling the crunch.
To keep up with the changing of times and the changing of the economic climate, the Great Falls Fire Rescue has released a proposed new fee schedule for businesses and entities in the city.
Businesses Being Notified, But Fees aren't Set in Stone in Great Falls
GFFR recently notified businesses within the city explaining the proposed fee schedule. However, those proposed fees haven't been approved through the City Commission.

The new proposed fee schedule is as follows according to GFFR:

BUSINESS LICENSE:
New Issuance
Tier 1 (0-2000 sq ft) $170
Tier 2 (2001-10,000 sq ft) $220
Tier 3 (10,001-25,000 sq ft) $295
Tier 4 (25,001-50,000 sq ft) $380
Tier 5 (50,001-100,000 sq ft) $565
Tier 6 over 100,000 sq ft $765
Churches $170 + $130 (Zoning) = $300.00
Note: On initial Business License’s Planning and Community Development charges a zoning fee.

SPECIAL EVENT FEES:
Minimum 1 inspection per City of Great Falls permitted event (any special events NOT permitted through the City of Great Falls, a Special Inspection Fee of $75 shall be charged per inspection). Special Event Permit is currently $35 (GFFR suggests increasing to $100)
$75 inspection fee (Amusement buildings, Carnivals/Fairs, Exhibits/Trade shows, Outdoor assembly event, Tent/Membrane structure)
$75.00 Open burning permit review and inspection fee. Minimum 1 inspection
FIRE SPRINKLER ACCEPTANCE:
$75 fee per inspection 100 heads or less. $100 fee per inspection over 100 heads.
FIRE ALARM ACCEPTANCE:
$75 fee per inspection under 25,000 square feet. $100 inspection fee 25,001 square feet or more.
HOOD ACCEPTANCE:
$75 fee per inspection.
FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEM ACCEPTANCE:
$75 fee per inspection.
FIRE PUMP ACCEPTANCE:
$75 fee per inspection.
STANDPIPE ACCEPTANCE:
$75 fee per inspection.
SPECIAL INSPECTION:
$75 per hour, minimum 1 hour.
AFTER HOURS INSPECTION:
$75 per hour, minimum 1 hour.
CONTRACTOR NOT READY FOR ACCEPTANCE:
$200 per instance

Hazmat supplies/tools cost + 20%
SERVICES OTHER:
CPR Training Class $75 per student
Fire Water Line Flush, under 100’ of hose used $100. Over 100’ of hose used, $50 per every 25’over a 100’
