
GFFR Reports One Firework Fire Incident on New Year’s Eve
Just as 2025 started, it ended pretty much the same way for the Great Falls Fire Rescue in the Electric City. Fighting more house fires.
As revelers were just starting to begin celebrating the new year's arrival, alarms were ringing at firehouses in the city for a firework related structure fire. 911 dispatch reported that flames and smoke were showing from the roof a home in Great Falls.

GFFR Reports One Major Fireworks Incident on New Year's Eve
In a press release the GFFR reports that a call came into 911 at 8:40pm on New Year's Eve at 717 7th Ave S in Great Falls. After arriving on scene, a small fire was discovered on the roof of the home. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire quickly, which left a small hole in the roof of the house. GFFR helped patch the roof for the occupants.

In the release, GFFR stated that "the cause of the fire was determined to be fireworks coming in contact with cedar shake shingles. There were no injuries, and the occupants were not displaced. It is unknown if citations were issued for the use of illegal fireworks."
Total Calls for GFFR in Great Falls for the Celebration of 2026 Arriving
In total, Great Falls Fire Rescue reported that between the hours of 7pm on December 31, 2025, and 9am on January 1, 2026, they responded to the following:
- 8 calls for Emergency Medical Services (EMS)
- 1 disturbance call
- 1 motor vehicle crash
- 1 house fire call
