
You Can Adopt a City Park Now in Great Falls – Here’s How
For those living within the city limits of Great Falls, there are several great ways to give back to the community. Being of civic mind and helping with volunteering in the Electric City makes it that much better for everyone, not just those on the receiving end of your generosity and care.
If you want to see that volunteerism in action, every single day, there is an easy way for those wanting to give back in the form of the Adopt a Park Program with the City of Great Falls Park and Recreation Department.

You Can Adopt a City Park Now in Great Falls - Here's How
If you have never added them up, Great Falls is home to nearly 60 public parks dotted across the footprint of the city. That is a lot to take care over the course of the year. And that's where you can help, by adopting a local park and helping to keep it look the best for those that are wanting to use it.

Besides those 58 parks, residents, families or civic groups can also adopt a section of the River's Edge Trail in the city. Activities associated with adoption include:
- Picking up litter, helping with spring spruce up, fall leaf raking, and other special projects from the park supervisor
The Park department will even supply you with items, by 'providing trash bags and compost bags, dog waste bags for refilling, and other such items as determined by the Park Supervisor".
Get Involved Today by Adopting a Park in the City of Great Falls
The requirements for you or your group are pretty simple:
- meet at least once per month to work 2 hours minimum
- a 1-year commitment (schools or special projects are reviewed if needed)
- report your monthly hours/attendance to the Deputy Director
