Actively Pursuing The Dream One Day At A Time
I rarely scribble up articles about myself or things that I've got going on in my life.
But recently, I did something that got me closer to checking off an item on my bucket list, and it's too cool not to share.
The Back Story Of My Bucket List
As many of you already know, I worked in television for a number of years as a meteorologist.
I became more interested in aviation while attending college to earn my Operational Meteorology Certificate.
Don't get me wrong, I've always been fascinated with planes and aviation, but learning about the atmosphere and studying it on a daily basis only heightened my interest.
While in college, I decided to pursue a private pilot's license once I completed all the classes, paid off my loans, and saved up a little money.
In September of 2023, I took the first step in pursuing a private pilot license.
Private Pilots License In Montana
The first step in pursuing a private pilot's license is to find a school and go on a discovery flight.
The school in Great Falls is Cloud Catcher Aviation, located at Holman Aviation.
A discovery flight gives you an idea of what the program entails and the investment needed to get your license.
First Solo Flight
One of the major milestones when getting a private pilot's license is your first solo flight.
On Monday, February 19th, I checked that box.
I've grown up as quite the adrenaline junky, but let me tell you, this may have been the most intimidating thing I've ever done.
I was confident that I could do it and not die in the process, but none the less it was incredibly nerve-racking.
I've still got a long way to go before I can call myself a pilot, but right now, I'm soaking up the win of flying solo.
