What's Up with Street Lights in Great Falls Lately?
If there is one thing that a creature of habit hates, it surely has to be change. And yes, I am one of those people. And yes, I hate change.
Especially if it involves something that I do every day. Consistently. Over and over. Like driving to work and always having a blinking light regardless of which way you travel to and from across the Electric City. The last few weeks though? Sheesh!
Have You Noticed This Traffic Light Change in Great Falls?
If you are like me and head to work in the earlier hours of the day, mainly before 5:30am, normally the streetlights of the city are blinking. Yellow for main streets like 10th Avenue South. Red for cross streets like 15th and 14th. Which are the main streets I use.

Over the last couple of weeks, those lights are no longer blinking away until 5:30am. Instead, they are operating as normal in the daytime. So, what gives? Did the city Traffic Division make a change to the schedule?

I Thought We Would Be Bigger in Great Falls
In Great Falls, the Traffic Division takes care of 90 different stoplights in the city. There are two traffic signal technicians that take care of those lights for us; however, the state of Montana controls the actual changing of those lights.

No matter what time of the day you are heading to work or play, keep an eye out for changing traffic conditions in regard to new signs, roadway markings or even those pesky traffic lights. And no, red on a turn doesn't mean go. Still. Sheesh!
