New Information Revealed Regarding Great Falls Apartment Fire
Great Falls Fire Rescue (GFFR) responded to a fire at the Pines Apartments in Great Falls on October 5, 2024.
According to GFFR, the blaze started at approximately 2 AM on the apartment complex's third floor of unit C.
The Pine Apartments are located at 1701 20th St. S. in Great Falls.

Weekend Fire In Great Falls Montana
GFFR responded with four apparatus and a battalion chief.
A second alarm was called, which brought in two additional crews and another battalion chief.
The Montana Air National Guard fire department and the Malmstrom Air Force Base fire department provided mutual aid in managing the situation.
Person Dies In Great Falls Apartment Fire
The person residing in the apartment where the fire began did die as a result of the fire.
The identity of the individual has not yet been released.
Roughly a dozen residents were displaced from the building because of the fire.
The American Red Cross has assisted those affected.
The fire caused extensive smoke and flame damage to the apartment building, as well as minor smoke and water damage to other units in the building.

Fire Cause
GFFR determined that the fire was caused by smoking near portable oxygen equipment.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
