If you are into philately or are even a part-time philatelist, you might have already had this big announcement on your radar. (And yes, I had to use the dictionary for those two words!)
Stamp collectors are getting a big gift this year from the United States Postal Service in the form of a commemorative stamp and booklet set. The new offering is to help celebrate a major milestone in USPS history. It's birthday time for mail delivery.

New Stamps in Montana will Help Celebrate a Big Birthday for USPS
The United States Postal Service began delivery of mail in 1775 and according to USPS was "so essential to winning American independence and creating a free nation that it is mentioned in the U.S. Constitution."

The new forever stamps, 250 Years of Delivering, "tell the story of a mail carrier making her daily rounds during a year in the life of the community she serves." An accompanying booklet is also featured:
the booklet highlights popular subjects that give the U.S. stamp program its remarkable range and depth. Exclusively available with this booklet are two sheets of a new Forever stamp featuring the first postmaster general, Benjamin Franklin.
New Stamp Commemorative Packs Available in July
The new stamps will be released to the public on July 23rd, 2025, at 10am MDT. The USPS also is opening the event to the public on the very first day in Washington, DC.
- The first day-of-issue event for the stamps and booklet is free and open to the public. News regarding the stamps is being shared with the hashtags #250YearsofDelivering and #USPS250booklet.
