New TSA Rule in Montana Might Make You Turn Apple
I have stated on numerous occasions that I hate flying. Sure, that rush of power when you take off can be a thrill, but everything else? Yeah, I would just as soon skip the whole process.
And while it won't take away my actual flying anxiety, a new feature with select Montana airports and the TSA may make it a little easier to get through the checkpoints requiring your identification. But there is a small catch to it.

Newly Deployed Technology in Montana will Require Switching to an Apple
In a press release through the Transportation Safety Administration (TSA), new technology will allow Montana residents and travelers to be able to use a state issued driver's license or state identification card in digital form to pass through airport screening.

There is a small catch to enjoy the convenience of that new feature, however. You will need to have an iPhone with the Apple wallet in order to check in with TSA. Once added to the wallet, users will be able to use their iPhone or Apple watch to check in.
New Technology is Great, But Don't Forget Your Physical ID Just Yet
The new process is pretty slick honestly. Select your ID in the wallet, hold it over the reader machine and it is verified with the security agent. For travelers that don't have a digital ID, TSA can scan their physical ID for identity verification.
Is the new technology enough to cause you to purchase a different phone? Probably not just yet, I'm willing to hold out and use my windshield scraper, I mean Driver's license, to travel. Besides, TSA says to keep your physical ID with you anyway:
All passengers, including those traveling through HLN with a digital ID, must continue to carry and have readily available their physical driver’s license or identification card, or other acceptable ID listed on the TSA website.
