This Popular Montana Store With 14 Locations Files Bankruptcy
The Gathering Place for Many a Generation of Montana Repair Folks
When it comes to main staples in small town Montana, there are several that pop into my mind. The post office, grocery store, perhaps a cafe connected to the local gas station. And of course, a bar or two to dot the main street of town.
Another favorite of time gone by is that of the hardware store. Pretty much every town has or had one at some point. Towns like Stanford with Galt's Hardware, or the Belt Hardware Store. They were all unique and so much fun to wander as a kid, and even an adult.
This Popular Montana Store With 14 Locations Files Bankruptcy
For small towns, those hardware stores are essential. So, when a new announcement about a popular hardware store declaring bankruptcy was released, I was a tad concerned how it would touch those communities.

True Value announced via a press release that it would be declaring Chapter 11 Bankruptcy and will be selling to a larger hardware corporation. Do It Best Corporation will be the new owner of the True Value entity. However, stores won't be affected in Montana, or at any of the locations across the US.
Stores to Continue to Operate as Usual Across Montana and US
With 14 locations dotted across Big Sky Country, True Value shoppers won't have to worry about their store closing according to the release:
"True Value will continue its day-to-day operations serving 4,500 independently owned retailers that rely on True Value for the right products, trusted expertise, and its 75-year-old iconic brand."
