The Sanders County Sheriff's Office says Chadwick Shane Mobley was re-arrested near Plains Monday evening, where he escaped at a Town Pump on Sunday.

After his escape, Sanders County said the 42-year-old got out of his handcuffs and ankle shackles, then ran off from the company hired to transport him, which the U.S. Marshals set up.

Officials noted several tips from the public helped them find Mobley.


A man suspected of homicide in Michigan is on the loose in Montana.

The Sanders County Sheriff's Office says Chadwick Shane Mobley escaped custody the morning of Sunday, July 9th, 2023, at a Town Pump in Plains.

The agency explained the 42-year-old was able to remove his handcuffs and ankle shackles and then ran off from the company hired to transport him.

The U.S. Marshals set up the transport.

The Sanders County Sherriffs Office says nobody should approach Mobley because he's considered dangerous.

Mobley is 6 feet tall and 150 pounds and was last seen wearing a light-colored shirt, camo pants, a baseball cap, boots, and a black coat.

The Sanders County Sheriff's Office urges residents to lock up all vehicles and residences and be on the lookout.

Mobley, 42, will be arraigned on charges related to the 2011 Lapeer County homicide of Andrea Eilber, according to the Michigan Attorney General's office.
