• The recall was initiated after discovering film packaging rolls used to package individually wrapped had an error
• Cheese wrapped packages are incorrectly labeled as not containing peanut ingredients

Popular Cracker Combo is Now Recalled in Montana

One of the most recognizable snack foods is issuing a recall of products that could contain peanuts in products that do not indicate so.  Those mislabeled packages could lead to an allergic reaction in people with an aversion to peanuts.

The voluntary recall is from Mondelēz Global LLC, manufacturers of the popular Ritz brand of crackers and cracker sandwiches.  The recall is a nationwide recall, including Montana, announced through the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

Products Mislabeled at Factory, Could Contain Allergens

According to the FDA release, the recall involves the following Ritz brand products that are affected:

• RITZ Peanut Butter Cracker Sandwiches (8-pack, 20-pack, and 40pack cartons)
• 20-pack RITZ Filled Cracker Sandwich Variety Pack carton

Those cartons include individually wrapped packs that may be incorrectly labeled as a cheese variety even though the product may be a Peanut Butter variety.
