Montana Is One of 8 States Hit with New Ice Cream Recall

Go figure.  A heatwave that is breaking records has hit Montana and suddenly another ice cream recall is thrust upon us.

That's right, I said another one.

Since the start of the 2024 year, 5 different recalls have had to be issued by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for various cases.  Salmonella, metal fragments, mislabeled allergens are all in there.

Most Recent Case and Recall Involves Rubber Fragments

Most recently, Montana and 7 other states have been put on alert about Casper's Ice Cream Inc. containing rubber fragments in containers.  The FDA has now upped the categorization of this recall to a Class II.

The affected states besides Montana include:

  • Arizona
  • Colorado
  • Idaho
  • Oregon
  • Nevada
  • Utah
  • Wyoming

Over 13,000 tubs of the contaminated ice cream were sold across all states in the recall.

Check Your Freezer Montana, Do You Have This Ice Cream in It?

The recalled product from Casper's Ice Cream Inc. is Red Button Vintage Creamery Cookie Dough Ice Cream.  The voluntary recall involves foreign material in the form of rubber pieces. This poses a choking hazard and potential mouth injury hazard.

The ice cream was sold in quart containers with a lot number stamped on the product label as 092-24-568. The UPC number for this item printed on the package is 0 77865 01008 6.

Consumers are advised to check containers and if found to be contaminated, immediately throw them out.  You may also return the container to your place of purchase for a refund.
