Popular River Outfitter Set to Retire in Great Falls

If your workplace has ever thrown a float party, or you and your buddies rented kayaks for a weekend trip on the Missouri River, chances are they were from one place in central Montana.

The iconic red brick building, large yellow sign and always with boating gear everywhere has been a staple in Great Falls for nearly 50 years.  Now, owner Craig Madsen has announced that he is retiring and has closed Missouri River Outfitters, LLC.

Madsen Hopes to Spend More Family Time in Retirement in Montana

The announcement came through both the MRO website and social media page.  Madsen expressed his gratitude for being an owner for 47 years, his employees, and providing guiding, outfitting, rentals, sales and more for everything river related.

A Small Silver Lining for this Closure in Great Falls

Although Missouri River Outfitters will not be offering guided trips or rentals for this season, Madsen will be selling new and used rafts, kayaks, canoes and accessories by appointment.  You can email at craigm@montana.com for information.
