Drinking a beer and Montana pretty much go together.  I have travelled many a roadway in search of a cold one across our state.

It is part of our lifestyle, no matter which one you choose.  Cracking an ice-cold beer after a hard day's work is refreshing, no question about it.

But there are also times where imbibing may not be in the best interest of you or your party.  That's where non-alcoholic beer comes in, and beer makers are finally realizing that there is a big market for them.  Finally.

Alternatives to Getting Looped Under the Big Sky

Regardless of the reason you aren't wanting to have a drink with alcohol, there are several alternatives to being able to crack a cold one with friends and family.

Originally non-drinkers that still wanted a beer had limited choices besides two offerings by two major brands, Coors and Budweiser.

However, as craft brews started to take off, those same brewers realized that they could also make a non-alcoholic drink that tasted just as great as a beer with alcohol.  And suddenly, our grocery coolers have an abundance of choices.

To find the best beer in each state and Washington D.C., Stacker analyzed January 2020 data from BeerAdvocate, a website that gathers user scores for beer in real-time. BeerAdvocate makes its determinations by compiling consumer ratings for all 50 states and Washington D.C. and applying a weighted rank to each. The weighted rank pulls the beer toward the list's average based on the number of ratings it has and aims to allow lesser-known beers to increase in rank. Only beers with at least 10 rankings to be considered; we took it a step further to only include beers with at least 100 user rankings in our gallery.
