7 Tips to Get a Great Photo of the Supermoon This Weekend in Montana

According to Amateur Photographer, there are 7 tips to taking the perfect photo of the moon.

  1. Choose your foreground.  What is it that you want the moon to highlight?
  2. Check your weather using our downloadable app from our website
  3. Get to your photo destination early in order to prepare
  4. Make sure the location is in focus, not the foreground
  5. Frame the moon to your foreground
  6. Shoot in raw.  You can edit shadows and more later.
  7. Try giving it a wider berth to capture more light

One last tip to add from my personal experience is to take as many photos as possible.  Don't just wait for the perfect moment, take shots from the start to the finish.  You may be surprised to capture something beautiful and unexpected.
