Montana College First Recipient of New Award in NAIA History
Montana is home to several incredible higher education schools that are dotted across the state. Our University of Montana and Montana State University are commonly mentioned in everyday conversation.
But another powerhouse school, known for football prowess is making waves in the NAIA College School World. Located in Helena, MT, Carroll College has just received a prestigious award. In fact, it is the very first school to ever receive it.
Award for Carroll College Presented This Week in Montana
In a press release the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced Carroll College as its inaugural School of Character Award winner. In presenting the award, NAIA President & CEO Jim Carr said:
Carroll’s strategic vision and dedication to developing both accomplished student-athletes and civically engaged individuals distinguish them among the best in the association.

Montana Governor Greg Gianforte was also in attendance for the presentation in Helena.
Carroll College Recognized for Many Different Reasons for Award
The award was presented to Carroll College via several different important programs at the school. From football, basketball, and soccer programs to helping alleviate food security problems.
Carroll President John Cech said during the award ceremony that:
This award is a powerful recognition of the commitment our student-athletes, coaches, and staff have made to character-driven athletics. Being recognized as the inaugural recipient of this prestigious honor from the NAIA reflects the heart of who we are—a community striving to uplift one another, serve others, and lead with purpose. I couldn’t be prouder of our student-athletes, along with our dedicated faculty, staff, and coaches, for truly exemplifying what it means to be Champions of Character.
