If you want to celebrate the 4th of July the Montana way, there are a few huge celebrations that need to be on your radar in Big Sky Country. Some cities and towns in Montana have firework restrictions, so make sure you check local rules before you start lighting up the sky.
Certain towns in Montana are known for legendary 4th of July celebrations that will certainly make you proud to be an American. Montana's Best Towns for Legendary 4th of July Celebrations
- Ennis, Montana - It's no surprise that Ennis was the #1 town on the list. Every year, Ennis hosts a huge 4th of July party featuring a parade, an NRA-sanctioned rodeo, fireworks, and more.
- Red Lodge, Montana - Red Lodge has a huge celebration planned for America's 250th birthday! A massive fireworks show is scheduled for July 4, 2026.
- Big Fork, Montana - If you happen to be in the Flathead Valley on the 4th of July, Big Fork is the place to be. The celebration begins with a parade featuring a variety of patriotic floats. There will also be food trucks and live music.
- West Yellowstone, Montana - For a truly patriotic celebration near the entrance to one of America's oldest National Parks, plan a trip to West Yellowstone. There's a farmer's market, a parade, and a fantastic fireworks show.
- Whitefish, Montana - 4th of July in Whitefish is unlike any other celebration in the state. Visitors can enjoy a spectacular fireworks show over Whitefish Lake.
The towns above were included on the list by World Atlas, but Livingston, Montana, deserves an honorable mention. Each year, Livingston hosts the Livingston Roundup Rodeo over 4th of July weekend. There's an awesome parade and fireworks each night at the Park County Fairgrounds.
