Is This The Worst Pothole In Great Falls?
I'm not going to lie; this may be one of the stupidest articles I've ever written, but honestly, it was an abrupt enough situation, and I wanted to share my experience with you.
We've all been there: driving along, minding your own business, when suddenly, it feels like the bottom of your vehicle just fell out.
That feeling… Caused by a massive pothole!
In a perfect world, you drive on unscathed, but in the worst-case scenario, you would end up with a flat tire or an out-of-whack alignment.
Well, that's precisely what happened to me just the other day.
Potholes In Great Falls
With the recent snow, this pothole blended into the parking lot, and then bam, the next thing I knew, It felt like a wheel had just fallen off of my pickup.
The picture doesn't do it justice, but is this not one of the worst potholes you've ever seen?
You can probably guess which parking lot I found this massive pothole in.
It's common knowledge that this parking has horrendous potholes.
Here's a hint: it's right off of Northwest Bypass behind the new Wendy's.
Does that ring a bell?
I have no idea who owns this parking lot and whose responsibility it is to maintain it, but dear Lord, it has terrible potholes.

What Caused Potholes
Potholes form due to a combination of water, temperature changes, and traffic pressure:
- Water Infiltration: Rainwater seeps into cracks in the road.
- Freeze-Thaw Cycle: In cold weather, water freezes and expands, widening cracks. Thawing leaves voids, weakening the road.
- Traffic Pressure: Heavy vehicles stress the weakened road, breaking pieces away.
- Poor Maintenance: Inadequate repairs or drainage accelerate the process.
