I may be going out on a limb on this, but I am pretty sure that everyone in Montana has a cooler of some sort in the garage or basement.

You may want to knock the dust off of them before you head out for a weekend of fun across Big Sky Country. The Igloo brand has issued a huge recall for a dangerous part that is leading to injuries.

Recall Across Montana, the U.S. and Canada for Consumers of Igloo

In an announcement through the Consumer Product Safety Commission, Igloo is issuing a recall on the Igloo 90 Qt. Flip & Tow Rolling Coolers.

The coolers are being recalled due to a faulty tow handle can pinch consumers’ fingertips against the cooler, posing fingertip amputation and crushing hazards. Coolers were manufactured prior to January 2024.

The date of manufacture is imprinted on the bottom of the cooler in a circular pattern with an arrow pointing to the month of manufacture and the last two digits of the year of manufacture inside the circle.

Replacement Parts are Available for Montana Consumers of Igloo

So far, the firm has received 12 reports of fingertip injuries, including fingertip amputations, bone fractures, and lacerations. Igloo recommends that consumers immediately stop using the recalled coolers and contact the company for a free replacement handle.
