Holiday History in the Backyard with First Peoples Buffalo Jump
Once the holiday fun unwraps for the Christmas day, you and your family may find yourselves needing something to do. Maybe burn off some of the goodies that you have enjoyed over the last few weeks.
If you want to get "outdoorsy" this holiday season, a quick trip outside of Great Falls, Montana might fit the bill for the day after Christmas. The First Peoples Buffalo Jump State Park will be hosting a guided hike that will return everyone to ancient times on the Montana prairie.

Holiday History in the Backyard with First Peoples Buffalo Jump
The park located 3.5 miles north of Ulm, just off Interstate 15 at Exit 270, will be offering a firsthand look at the ancient petroglyphs and pictographs that are featured during the moderately-strenuous off-trail hike along the cliffs.

The guided tour with the park ranger will put participants back in time, and they "will learn about two distinctive methods for producing the rock art found in the area, along with the symbolism and meaning behind the art."

To join the First Peoples Buffalo Jump State Park for one of their guided rock art hikes on Friday, Dec. 26, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., reservations are required and there is a $4 fee for the hike.
