It’s Time for Camper Drama 2025 in Great Falls
Just because the white stuff is starting to make its presence known across Big Sky Country, doesn't mean we aren't still using the trusty pull camper or RV into winter. Absolutely not in Montana when hunting season is right around the corner.
But those campers seem to be a major problem maker and drama creator when they continue to be parked on the streets of our fair city. The Great Falls Police Department wants to remind everyone about the rules about parking your 5th wheel on public streets.

It's Time for Camper Drama 2025 in Great Falls
For Great Falls residents that own campers, utility trailers and the like, there are a few rules that apply when parking them on public streets or in public parking areas. The GFPD says the law is pretty straightforward but still causes problems between neighbors occasionally.

For owners of "campers, motorhomes, recreational trailers (boats, ATV, Jet Ski, etc.), utility trailers, and construction trailers" the rule states that:
These vehicles may only be parked on public property for 3 days out of every 7 days (this means they can be on the street for 3 days, must move to private property or outside the City limits for 4 days, back for 3 days, off for 4 days, etc.)
Compliance or Fines May Happen; How to Report Infractions in Great Falls
Once the vehicle has been reported to police, owners who do not come into compliance with initial warning stickers could face fines ranging from $50 initially to up to $200 before being eventually disabled with a boot or towed.
In Great Falls, the GFPD response is complaint driven by residents. To report a vehicle, have details ready including the following:
- Location, make, model, color, plates, etc.
To file a complaint, call 406-455-8599. If you want to see how heated this discussion can become in Great Falls, check the following post from the social media of GFPD:
