A new announcement by the Great Falls Public Library is bringing some Christmas cheer to the facility a little earlier than Santa's usual visiting time.

The library has accepted a new grant that will allow the facility to expand different departments with new books and audiovisual materials in 2026.

Great Falls Public Library Accepts $30,500 in Grant Money

In a press release from the GFPL, the new $30,500 grant is from the Great Falls Public Library Foundation, and according to Executive Director of the Great Falls Public Library Foundation, Brianne Laurin:

Supporting the library means supporting the entire community, we are proud to help expand access to educational and recreational materials that benefit residents of all ages.

The grant will "allow further access to high-quality resources for Great Falls and Cascade County" and will "support acquisition of diverse materials" at the library.  The library is looking to expand with "new fiction and nonfiction titles, large-print books, DVDs, and audiobooks."

Outgoing Library Director Expresses Gratitude for Grant and Foundation

To add another feather to an already full cap, retiring Library Director Susie McIntyre stated in the release that:

We are deeply grateful to the Great Falls Public Library Foundation for their continued investment in our mission.  This funding supplements our existing budget and allows us to keep our collection fresh, relevant, and responsive. Whether someone is seeking the latest bestseller, reliable information, or entertainment for the whole family, this grant helps us deliver.
