Great Falls City Commission Needs to Fill Several Positions Now
If someone mentions doing my civic duty, I immediately think about serving on a jury. But there are many other ways to serve that duty, especially by volunteering for charities, or even being a member of a specific board.
That opportunity is happening right now within our government offices with the city of Great Falls. Several openings are available to be filled immediately by any resident of the Electric City.
Serving On a Great Falls Commission or Board Is Easy to Apply For
Serving is a great way to become involved in your local political scene. Citizen Interest Forms are available at the City Manager's Office, Civic Center, Room 201, by calling 406-455-8450; or may be downloaded from the Citizen Interest Form Page.
In the current needs, most positions meet one day a month at specific locations. Terms vary for each of the positions, from just a few months up to 4 years for service to the respected opening.
5 Positions Are Currently Open for Boards in Great Falls
The city of Great Falls is looking for several people to fill various positions for commissions and boards. Those include:
- The City Commission is seeking applications for the Parking Advisory Commission. In 2023, several Board Members resigned from the Parking Advisory Commission and the city is looking to fill four vacancies. Two of the appointments will be for partial terms through April 30, 2025, and two are for full three-year terms.
- The City Commission is accepting applications for the Great Falls Ethics Committee for a three-year term through December 31, 2026. Applicants should have expertise/qualifications in the following areas: Public administration, Governmental operation, Political practices or Legal practice if possible. Applicants must reside within the city limits.
- The City Commission is seeking applications for a citizen to serve on the Great Falls Housing Authority Board of Commissioners. There is one opening for a tenant member for the remainder of a two-year term through June 30, 2024.
- The City Commission is accepting applications for the Business Improvement District Board of Trustees to fill the remainder of a four-year term through June 30, 2024. The Board consists of seven members appointed by the City Commission, serving four-year terms. The Board oversees the functions, operations, management and administration as necessary to carry out the purposes and objectives of the Business Improvement District.
- There is one position available for the Mansfield Center for the Performing Arts Advisory Board.
