Getting Your Gearhead On – The Corvette Club of Great Falls

Movies will motivate you.  They will make you laugh, angry, or even cry.  They can also shape the likes or dislikes that you will carry with you through your entire life.  Movies like Star Wars that become everyday life.  We still celebrate May the Fourth Be With You to this day!  Many of my friends were hugely influenced by it back in 1977, but it would take me another year to find the movie that would shape part of my life, and the star would be the same.

In 1978, the movie Corvette Summer would hit movie theaters.  Starring Mark in his first role since being Luke Skywalker, it featured a car that still lives on in my dreams and even a small desire to own one just like it.  The candy apple red metal flake shining in the sun, with customized flares, flames, and so much fiberglass bodywork you could hardly tell it was still a Corvette.  But it was, and I loved it.

Unfortunately, you won't get to see the official Corvette Summer car this weekend.  But that doesn't mean you won't have the opportunity to check out a ton of these amazing cars at the annual Great Falls Corvette Club car show.  Featuring models through the years of steel and fiberglass to today's innovations in the C8 models, you will be able to take a ride through time and ingenuity at this show.  Head to City Motor Company this weekend for all the show n' shine fun starting at 10 am Saturday morning, July 1st.
